Greetings to the German Vasculitis Patients Group from the Wegener's Granulomatosis Association!

We are sorry not to have a representative at your meeting, but hope that your meeting provides you support, education and hope.

I am the new president of the WGA and want to help the VPS however I can.  Joyce Kullman, who has attended your meeting several times, has told me about your strong organization and how much help you provide to patients and families.

We want to partner with your members in raising worldwide awareness of vasculitis, especially during Wegener’s Awareness Week, October 2-8.  We believe everyone should know about vasculitis.

We are also grateful for the important German research being conducted by Prof. Gross, Dr. Lamprecht and Dr. Aries in the area of vasculitis. This research is underwritten by the Wegener’s Association Small Grants Program, funded by patients and families who want to speed discovery into the causes of and better therapies for vasculitis.

We are busy planning next year's WGA Medical Symposium. The symposium will be held July 7-9, 2006 in Baltimore, Maryland and we will partner with the Johns Hopkins Vasculitis Center.  The symposium will include a detailed discussion of vasculitis issues and also breakout sessions for individual vasculitis disease groups.  The breakout sessions will provide the opportunity for patients to talk about their specific diseases. We hope to see many of you there.

We wish you a successful meeting and look forward to working together with you in raising awareness of vasculitis.

Thanks!

Dianne Shaw, President
Wegener’s Granulomatosis Association
